Julieanna Charron
Hello, I'm now Mrs. Julieanna Pomian, formerly Ms. Charron. I teach Kindergarten- third grade music education at Greenwood Elementary School. I hold a Bachelors in Music Education from Vandercook College of Music in Chicago Illinois, and a Master of Arts degree from Saint Xavier University in Curriculum and Instruction. My major instruments in college were trumpet, piano and voice, but I learned to play and am certified to teach all instruments in a band, orchestra, choir, and classroom setting.

I am currently going through the process of National Board Teaching Certification through Illinois State University and the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards. I am pleased to report that I passed the first two components of my National Boards! I have completed and submitted my 4th component and will be working towards my third component in the '17-'18 school year.  I hold level one certification in "Orff Schulwerk" music education instruction, and am planning to continue level 2 and 3 in the next couple of years. I am an active member of NFAME (National Association of Music Education) ILMEA (Illinois Music Education Association), NEA (National Education Association), and Kappa Delta Pi (International Honors Society for Educators) where I hold National offices on the budget and technology committees.

Recently I wrote the Early Elementary (K-5th grade) Music Curriculum for South Holland School District 150. Our music curriculum incorporates Social Emotional learning standards, the current Illinois State Standards for music, National Music Education Core Arts standards, and Common Core learning standards. Which can be viewed on our class website.
