Girls PE 7/8: Thomas
Quarter 1:  for the first quarter we will attempt to complete our Soccer, Flag Football, Yoga and Volleyball Units.  In each unit we like to cover the history, rules, terminology, and fundamentals of each sport.  We hope to expose the students to these sports in the event they like a sport and want to build on the experience outside of physical education class.  At the end of each unit there will be a Unit Exam, and study guides are provided to the students one week in advance for each test.   If a students does poorly on a test or quiz in Health or Physical Education, they may correct the paper for a better grade.  Tests with a failing grade of 60% or below must have a parent signature to be corrected.  I do not accept late corrected papers!!!!  Students need to be responsible and take ownership of their grades and if they want me to correct a paper they did poorly on, they must be responsible and turn it in the following day it was returned to them. (the only exception would be if a students was absent from physical education and unable to turn in their corrections the next day)
At the end of this quarter, students will retake the Fitness Gram Testing and analyze their progress and performance for the first quarter.  If you have any questions, or concerns in the first quarter, please don't hesitate to contact me, anytime.

8-21-17  Welcome Back!!

This week we will also begin Fitness Gram Testing.  The students will perform the various tests to find a baseline for their overall fitness.  Then each student will review their results, compare them to the state standards, and create goals for the end of the quarter.  At the end of each quarter, we will re-assess the students to monitor their progress and evaluate the goals they set.
