General Information

Welcome to first grade!

I look forward to having an exciting and productive school year!  Below you will find some general information regarding my classroom!

Students are expected to:
Do their best
Be kind and helpful to others
Follow directions
Raise their hand to speak
Say please & thank you
Be responsible
Listen when someone else is speaking
Be a team player
Dream big and achieve greatness!

Students are to come to school each day prepared for class.  As the year progresses please check-in with them in order to ensure that they have all the necessary supplies for a successful school year. Each student has his or her own mailbox within the classroom.  Students are expected to check their mail every day and place any papers in their take-home folder.  Please check your child's folder every day for any news or notes.

Homework
Homework folders are sent home every Monday and are due on Friday unless otherwise noted.  Within the homework folder, you will find some helpful resources, as well as a homework agenda letting your student know which assignments they need to complete each day.

Behavior Management
Individual student behavior is tracked using a clip chart.  Students start on green every morning and are able to move up or down the clip chart as their behaviors change.  Students are given a behavior calendar at the beginning of each month.  They are expected to fill out their behavior calendar each day, bring it home to show you, and return it to school the following day.  Please check your child's behavior calendar daily!

We are always super excited to celebrate when someone's birthday comes around.  Students are allowed to bring treats, however, they must be store bought in a sealed container.  Any cupcakes/treats are to be dropped off in the front office by 11:30 a.m.  Cupcakes/treats are passed out during our lunch period by the lunch monitors.

Due to certain allergies, please do not send any treats with peanut products!
